We’re now looking for someone that is ready for new exciting challenges and willing to enter our family as “DBA- MySQL / Maria & Mongo".This position is full time and will be based in our Bangalore office (during COVID-19 crisis, the position will be remote-based).

 

Here’s what you will do:


  • Installation and configuration of databases
  • Write new database programs, such as SQL queries, and maintain existing programs to ensure data traffic is enhanced and be able to manage the data stored in the application / backend / server.
  • Optimizing and perf tuning of database systems.
  • Debugging/refining automation scripts to debug existing database scripts.
  • Automation of redundant/regular needs and process.
  • New database design based on company requirement / customer requirement.
  • Schema changes in the data tables.
  • Monitoring the database's performance, implementing changes, and applying new patches / versions as required.
  • Data replication across different resources to ensure data redundancy.
  • Troubleshoot database code, check for potential problems that affect database functionality and related database programs.
  • Review the log files for root cause analysis.
  • Regular periodic database maintenance.
  • Manage, monitor performance, capacity and security of database systems.
  • Test database systems and perform bug fixes.
  • Security hardening for databases.
  • Perform data back-up and archival on a regular basis.
  • Data extraction, transformation and loading on a regular basis.
  • Resolve technical issues / queries related to performance, capacity, data storage, data access.
  • User access management.
  • Support within the teams on call.
  • Minimising the risks by knowing potential weaknesses of the database software.
  • Retrieval of data on need basis.
  • Reports generation.


Expected skill-set and competencies


  • Over all 2 to 4 years of production experience in managing Mysql/Maria services under any of the public/private cloud.
  • 1 to 2 years of production experience with MongoDB is required.
  • Having basic expertise with cloud providers like AWS,GCP is an added advantage for Mongo/Mysql/Maria.
  • Should have created, maintained and managed multiple databases.
  • Is capable of monitoring, maintaining database services and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Should have an expertise with Installation, configuration and upgradation and patch management for MySQL / Maria, Mongo.
  • Should have expertise in maintaining data integrity and security
  • Proficiency with Replication / Cluster for HA set-up.
  • Proven experience with back-up and restoration of databases.
  • Strong knowledge or prove expertise on archiving and shrinking databases data.
  • Added advantage for automations using any one scripting language (Bash,Perl,Python etc..,).
  • Should have a good working knowledge of linux(Centos, Redhat, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux etc..,).
  • Flexible to work on rotational shifts & handling of on-call on rotation basis
