We’re now looking for someone that is ready for new exciting challenges and willing to enter our family as “Infrastructure Engineer”. This position is full time and will be based in our Milan office (during COVID-19 crisis, the position will be remote-based).


Team’s charter

The Infrastructure Engineering team’s responsibilities are to build and run reliable infrastructure for other teams and for applications running services to our customers and internal stakeholders.


Here are the key activities that the team will be handling.

  • Plan, deploy and maintain full infrastructure, from cabling to services and OS deployments

  • Select the proper technology to use to provide the best availability

  • Provide support to the other teams within the company

  • In consultation with Information Security, raise the bar on the lines of standardization, automation and efficiency



What will you be doing?

  • Design, deploy and maintain technology infrastructure both in on-prem and public clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure)

  • Standardize the configuration of the systems, using automation

  • Manage systems and configurations centrally with automation & standardization mindset

  • Create a common baseline to install and manage services across different countries

  • Create scripts and use tools to automate tasks

  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operations and the core services of the Company

  • Monitor the infrastructure and ensure high availability of systems and services

  • Setup, manage and troubleshoot the network

  • Maintain good working relationships with third party service providers and vendors



Expected skill-set and competencies


  • Solid background in setting up and maintaining on premise infrastructure

  • Proficiency with 1-2 public clouds such as AWS, GCP and Azure including exposure to migration of workloads from on-prem to cloud

  • Setup of a rack, with proper cabling and labelling 

  • Server/switch installation, setup, upgrading and maintenance

  • Set up of complex network configurations (VLAN, LACP, BGP)

  • Knowledge of common web services (Apache, NGINX)

  • Experience with the setup of high available database services (MySQL, Postgres)

  • Familiarity with broker and queue services (RabbitMQ)

  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch

  • Good knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol

  • tcpdump/wireshark/network inspection and troubleshooting tools

  • Experience with SS7 and SMPP protocols is a plus

  • Experience with creating and troubleshoot VPN connections (IPSec, OpenSSL)

  • Ability to automatic operations with shell scripting and orchestration (Ansible)

  • Good knowledge of Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS

  • Knowledge of OpenBSD is considered a plus

  • Familiarity with public clouds such as AWS & GCP is appreciated

  • Experience with virtualization software (VMWare)

  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs / 25 kg (33 lbs / 15 kg if female)

  • Must be available to provide 2nd/3rd level support including on-call after hours support (rotating shifts)
